Lea Poleur Hasoppe, 95, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002.
Born in Belgium, Sept. 17, 1906 to Gustave and Rosalie Dony Poleur. Married Joseph Hasoppe in Liege, Belgium, Aug. 25, 1925. Emigrated to Salt Lake in 1948. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, 1949.
Was taught by Catholic nuns. Her talents included knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. Was an avid reader and gifted pianist in her youth. She joined the LDS Church shortly after her marriage and became a mother to many missionaries. Served three missions with her husband in Europe and Canada. Compiled family histories and genealogy. Active in many church callings.
Children: Denise Judd (deceased), Andree H. George and Emmanuel J. (Carolyn) Hasoppe; grandchildren: Arlette (Jack) Rukavina, Stacy (Lyndon) Jones, Todd J. Hasoppe; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 at 12 noon, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Viewing Friday Jan. 11, 2002 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park, in Holladay.
