SHARE Obituary: Edd Darwin Morgan

Our proud father, fisherman and ironworker, 'Ted' Morgan, age 77, returned to his heavenly home January 7, 2002.

Edd was born March 28, 1924 in Salt Lake City as the fourth son of

Cyrus Morgan and Lillian Lundgren Morgan. He graduated from Granite High School and was immediately drafted into the U.S. Navy for World War II. He attended the University of Utah in 1946, then followed his father's profession as an ironworker, which became his life's profession. He was introduced by his best friend to Leila Beth Fisk and her sister, Irene. Edd and Leila were civilly married on November 12, 1951, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple one year later. Edd was a dependable and faithful husband and father with four loving sons. He was very social and made many friends. He could often be seen under the hood of a friend's car or sharing his welding skills for friends. He retired as an Ironworker in Local 27, then continued for many years to sell welding rod and instruct those who bought it from him. Edd served as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held numerous church leadership positions. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Edd had a life long passion for fishing. His specialty was fishing the streams and lakes of the Wasatch Mountains with his sons as well as friends. After Leila's passing in 1995, Edd remarried Floy "Charlie" Clement on October 29, 1996 in the Jordan River Temple. She tenderly cared for him and was a great companion in his last few years. He will be missed by all who knew him, but is comforted now with his Father in Heaven, Leila and family and friends who have passed on.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Debbie, Alan and Lorraine, Edd and Rochelle, Dave and Tami; foster son Dennis Valdez (and Sharon), dedicated sister-in-law Irene Fisk Oldham (and Dave), 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A viewing will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10th at the Sandy Utah Central Stake house, 1050 E. Galena Dr. (9820 So.) after which, funeral services begin at 12 noon. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
