A Salt Lake man was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court in connection with the theft of laptop computers worth $6,623.15.
The man, 31, was charged with unlawful dealing of property by a fiduciary, a second-degree felony.
On the night of Aug. 18, Salt Lake City International Airport police positioned at UPS, 3815 W. 1580 North, saw a man park a Jeep outside a fenced area, charges state. They later saw him behind trailers in the facility's northeast area. About 1:15 a.m. Aug. 19, he returned to the Jeep with two medium-sized boxes that authorities determined were supposed to be shipped to Milton, Pa., and Tampa, Fla.
Authorities set up surveillance at the facility because UPS officials noticed packages were being lost during the summer, charges state.
