Donald Harvey Prince, 46, passed away peacefully while resting at home, Nov. 22, 2002 after months of battling a rare form of Leukemia.
He was born September 18, 1956 in Salt Lake city, Utah to Douglas and Beth Prince, now residing in St. George, Utah. He met and married Julia Frances Auble in 1979. They began their new home and family in Katy, Texas. In 1986 they moved to Grantsville where they raised their five wonderful children, Donny (22-currently in the military stationed in Korea); Jessica (20 - recently married to Chad Williamson, both serving in the military, in North Carolina; Christin (18); Troy (16); and Caitlin (12). Their father had the special blessing of having all his children together with him for a few days prior to passing.
Don loved life. He had a unique ability to entertain his family and friends at every gathering. The party didn't really begin until Don was there. He was also noted for his adventurous and entrepreneurial zeal. He had a special ability for solving problems in a way that made the solutions a "win-win" for all involved. Although his decisions were definitely people oriented, when called for, he had an uncanny ability for solving mechanical and civil engineering problems in his capacity as a project manager. During his life, he took many individuals under his wing--mentoring them and becoming an older brother to many who needed an anchor to lean on. He liked to relax by spending time with his family and friends around a campfire--enjoying the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife and children; his parents; his older siblings, Peggy, Leon, Gwen, Bill, Frances, Warren and younger siblings, Sam, Leland, Kim and Sheila. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven and Daniel.
Memorial services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the their LDS meeting house, 550 East Durfee, Grantsville, UT. The family requests that donations be sent in lieu of flowers, to Julie Prince, P.O. Box, 1152, Grantsville, UT 84029
