Police are issuing a warning to motorists: Be careful where you park.

During the next week, several streets will have temporary "no parking" signs set up to accommodate additional traffic flow during Salt Lake's Winter Games.

Routes will be heavily patrolled and cars parked illegally will be ticketed or towed at the owner's expense, officials say.

Cars abandoned on highways will also be towed immediately. If you do have car problems, authorities suggest exiting the highway, if possible.

Otherwise, drivers should pull off to the right shoulder, stay with their vehicle and call the Utah Highway Patrol.
