WEST VALLEY CITY — A man was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Saturday for investigation of attempted homicide after an exotic dancer was stabbed in the neck.
The man, 21, called the girl to his house about 3:30 a.m. Friday, said West Valley police Capt. Craig Gibson. When the woman arrived, she apparently got into a dispute with the man because she refused to do what he wanted, Gibson said.
The man attacked the woman and stabbed her in the neck with a 5-inch kitchen knife, Gibson said. The stabbing left a half-inch cut in her neck.
The man's father, who was asleep in the house, heard the commotion and pulled his son off the woman, Gibson said. The man ran out of the house, and the woman called a friend who then called police.
The woman was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital with nonlife-threatening wounds. The man was arrested the next day after he returned to the house.
