A man who tried to rob a Wells Fargo bank, 1095 E. 2100 South, Friday was unsuccessful because the teller had already emptied her till.

The man, about 50, approached the teller just before 2 p.m. and told her to give him the money. She explained that she had just emptied her till and she didn't have any money. He again demanded money and she repeated herself. The man then produced a note, which the teller did not read. The would-be robber took the note and fled the bank without any money.
