Indoor plants struggle through winter

Next week's column will cover winter perennials, which add interesting off-season color.

Snowy, dreary days take their toll on indoor plants. Wash the windows or move them to areas where they get more light. Watch them carefully and be certain not to water them too much. This is the critical time period for plants. If you can coax them through another few weeks, the days will get longer and they will start growing again.
