SANDY — The new Sandy City Center Post Office will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, April 8, 10 a.m. to noon at 215 W. Sego Lily Drive (10000 South).
Located across from City Hall, the public is welcome to attend the event, which begins with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"The Sandy City Center Post Office is very customer-friendly," Jefferson Davis, Sandy postmaster, said. "Customers can browse through displays of all the latest stamps, pick up envelopes or packaging material, then take their purchase to a cashier, just like a convenience store."
The new post office is a retail facility only. It does not have a bulk mail unit or handle passports. Hours of the new facility will be 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The lobby will be open seven days a week, 24 hours day.
The facility also includes 1,200 post office boxes in its 6,352 square feet of space.
