INDIANAPOLIS — The company behind telephone psychic "Miss Cleo" has agreed to give five days' notice before it runs any advertisements in Indiana, the attorney general said Friday.

In return, the state will drop its request for a court order prohibiting Access Resource Services of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from running ads that officials say violate Indiana consumer protection laws.

The settlement does not affect a lawsuit the state filed March 14 that accuses Miss Cleo of deceptive advertising.

There was no answer Friday at a telephone number listed for Access Resource Services.

Several other states and the Federal Trade Commission also have sued operators of the hot line.
