David Wayne Johnson passed away on May 5, 2002 in Ogden, Utah as the result of a mountain climbing accident.
He was born on April 5, 1957 in Los Angeles, California and was the second of seven children of Harold and Martha Johnson, currently living in Bellville, Texas.
David is survived by his parents, two brothers and three sisters: Dale Johnson of Ramsey, New Jersey; Sean Johnson of the US Navy; Deborah Jones of Delta, Utah; Dawn Winders of Kingwood, Texas; and Rebecca Johnson of Ramsey, New Jersey.
David lived most of his life in Utah. He graduated from Payson High School in 1975. He was an accomplished tool and sheet metal machinist and had various jobs around Utah and Salt Lake counties. David also lived a few years in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas where he made many friends.
David loved motorcycles, friends, and life. He was known affectionately as "Hippie" to his friends and was appreciated, and loved by many. He lived life on his own terms and tried to make the best of each situation that confronted him.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Payson Utah City Cemetery, 805 East 400 North, on Monday, May 13, 2002 at 10 a.m. David will be buried in the Johnson family plot next to his sister Diane. Arrangements are entrusted to Walker Mortuary in Payson, Utah.
