Our beloved aunt and sister, Hazel Black Noss, passed away peacefully in her home in Layton, Utah May 25, 2002.
She was born Feb. 24, 1918 in Garfield, UT to Joseph Valentine and Elizabeth Ann Varty Black. She graduated from the Cyprus High School in 1937 and then from the University of Utah in 1941. She was a teacher for 38 years. Some of her schools were in Topaz, Garfield, Magna, and Kearns, UT. She married Harold R. Noss Jan 20, 1944 in Riverside, CA and had one adored son, Michael Ray Noss.
Hazel loved to read. She also enjoyed doing things with her many nieces and nephews. In earlier years she took them on trips, to movies, and generally tried to spoil them. Daniel, B.J., and Christopher Behling love and will miss their Grandma Hazel. She spent many hours reading to them, watching them play, and listening to their violins.
Hazel is survived by her son, Michael; brothers, Wallace Black, Boyd Black; and sisters, Betty Schultz, Afton Vandenberg. She was greeted in heaven by her parents; and brothers, Wardell and Ray Black.
