MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Bucks coach George Karl underwent successful hip replacement surgery Wednesday and is expected to be home by the weekend.
Karl was in pain all season but said it was "not as tough as going through some of the games I went through."
The Bucks, a preseason favorite to win the Eastern Conference, finished 41-41 and missed the playoffs.
Karl, who turns 51 Sunday, will have time to recover before preparing to coach Team USA in the world championships this summer in Indianapolis.
