Vera Sumsion Summers passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2002, in Idaho, after a long productive life.

She was born April 14, 1905, in Chester, Sanpete County, Utah, to Henry L. and Phoebe Barlow Sumsion. She married John Reginald Summers January 2, 1930, in Provo, Utah; he preceded her death in 1966.

Vera graduated from Snow College and attended Brigham Young University, and she taught school in North Sanpete and Box Elder Counties. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served when called -- Primary being one of her favorite assignments. She performed volunteer services at the Cottonwood Hospital and at the Holladay Elementary School assisting students with reading.

Vera is survived by her only son, James L. and wife Carolyn of Eagle, Idaho; one granddaughter, Jimilyn; and two grandsons, John Clain and wife Lilla, and James Talon and wife Wendy; and one great-grandchild, Jillian, all of Southern California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, June 14th at noon at the Holladay 2nd Ward, 2165 E. 4500 S. Interment will follow at Holladay Memorial Park. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the services at the ward house. Arrangements by Cottonwood Mortuary.
