Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister peacefully left her mortal existence with her family surrounding her on June 9, 2002 at the age of 78.
She was valiant in her service to the Lord, her fellow men and her family. Throughout her wonderful life, Rozella was a friend to all. She loved people, making friends easily with everyone she met and was loved by all in return.
Rozella was born November 15, 1923, in Taylor, Weber County, Utah. She was the daughter of John Roy Hunter and Annis Bingham, and was sister to Roy, Norma, Ruth and Melvin. She graduated from Weber High School and attended Utah State University, where she met her future husband, Dean P. Sargent. They were married May 12, 1944 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a long-time resident of Sandy and of Washington, Utah.
Rozella was president of the Relief Society and president of the Primary in her ward and stake in the LDS Church. She also served as organist, teacher and leader. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She taught piano to many students in the Sandy, Utah area. Rozella also was the bandleader of a dance orchestra bearing her name that played for organized social events and weddings throughout northern Utah.
Rozella is survived by her husband, Dean and their children, DeAnn (Farrel) Fountaine, Ronald D. (Elisa) Sargent, Keith R. (Dawn) Sargent, D. Brent (Tammy) Sargent and Jeanine Aerts-(Robert) Rosenblatt; brother, Roy Hunter, and sister, Ruth Stevenson. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Our mother was very patient and loving to us as we were growing up. She always wanted the best for her children. Love, honesty, hard work and integrity were the values she not only taught us in words but by example. She was always willing to lend a hand, say an encouraging word or teach us a new game to play. She leaves behind a loving family that will be forever grateful for the example she has set.
