Two open houses/public hearings are planned to discuss the West Valley City-Taylorsville and Mid-Jordan transit corridors.
The proposed locally preferred alternatives include light-rail extensions connecting with the north/south TRAX light-rail system. The purpose of the meetings is to gather public comment on the proposed alignments.
The proposed West Valley alignment would connect with the north/south TRAX line at about 2250 South and terminate near West Valley City Hall and the Valley Fair Mall.
The proposed Mid-Jordan alignment follows the existing Bingham Branch line through Midvale, West Jordan and South Jordan and extends westward to the planned Sunrise residential development in South Jordan.
The West Valley City-Taylorsville open house is Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 4 p.m., and the public hearing is that same day from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., both at West Valley City Hall, 3600 S. Constitution Blvd.
The Mid-Jordan open house is Thursday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m., and the public hearing is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., both at the West Jordan City Hall, 8000 S. Redwood Road.
