MAYFIELD, UTAH<! > - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Elva Leora Stevens Stenberg, age 71, died suddenly and unexpected, Sunday, August 11, 2002 at her home in Mayfield of a massive heart attack. She had spent the previous day at the Stevens Family Reunion on the mountain, visiting with her sister and brothers, and her family.
Leora was born November 17, 1930 in Aurora, Utah, a daughter of Reed Leroy and Elva Andrews Stevens. She married Jay Albert Stenberg, November 10, 1950 in Aurora. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, May 8, 1965. Jay died four months ago on April 13, 2002.
She is survived by her children: Patsy and Keith Graves, Beth and John Andrews, all of South Jordan; Brenda and Ev Westerman of Riverton; Alan and Janet Stenberg of Taylorsville; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister and brothers: Arlene Langford of Brigham City; Carlos Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; Oral Taylor of Payson and Vorris Stevens of Loa; special Aunt and Uncle, Alma and Aldena Thompson of Nephi. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Taylor and Arden Leroy Stevens.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2002 at 12 Noon in the Mayfield LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Jenkins Soffe South Valley Funeral Chapel, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10550 South) in South Jordan, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the chapel in Mayfield, Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora Utah Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
