Fluoride in drinking water is not the Holy Grail but a costly, polluting mistake.

I once debated constitutional issues with David Irvine at the state office building in an event sponsored by the Women's Legislative Council. By his own statements during that debate, Irvine believes in the Hamiltonian strong central government interpretation of the Constitution. I support the interpretations of Madison and the expressed beliefs of Jefferson and those of George Mason, who prepared the Bill of Rights. The Utah Constitutional Convention shared those same interpretations: The people are the source of power of government.

Dr. Beth Beck and attorney Irvine are incorrect to try to force elitism upon the people. They are trying to violate Utah's Constitution and the Ninth and 10th Amendments of the Constitution of the United States. Irvine's arguments are specious and of no value in this state nor in this country.
