Salt Lake County sheriff's investigators continued Wednesday to look for a woman and her 2-year-old son who disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Josie Salazar was last seen Monday evening. Her mother went to her apartment, 4625 S. 1832 East, about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and found it in disarray, said Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy Peggy Faulkner. The contents of Salazar's purse had been tossed around the room and the blinds were bent, she said.

Nothing was determined to be missing from the purse or the apartment and there were no signs of forced entry, Faulkner said.

Salazar was scheduled to be in court later that day on a felony charge of theft of service, but she never showed up.
