I don't question that Utah Starzz basketball player Natalie Williams, who recently adopted boy and girl twins, loves her children and is a good mother. I don't question that she has a great support system in her mother, nanny and fellow Starzz teammates. My important question is this: Where's daddy?

Statistics and studies recently announced unequivocally prove the importance of a father in the life of a child. I believe one of the most insidious and mistaken notions perpetrated on the world today is the belief that men aren't needed in a family. This belief is a major cause of the breakdown of the nuclear family.

I can't begin to tell you the profound influence their father has had on our 10 children, especially on our six sons, who are learning from him how to become men, providers, husbands and fathers in their turn. This is something that as a woman I could never do nor would I even try.

So I ask all you single women like Natalie, Rosie O'Donnell and so many others who are adopting or having babies take notice; everyone, especially little boys, needs a dad.
