SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A sightseeing helicopter went down Friday in the choppy waters near the Golden Gate Bridge and all four people on board were rescued within half an hour, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The helicopter went down near the center span of the Golden Gate Bridge, said Petty Officer David Connor. The cause was not immediately known and it was not clear if the craft crashed or made an emergency landing.

The helicopter was equipped with pontoons and could be seen floating in the bay as commuter traffic crossed the famous span nearby.
