Tony Stilinovich passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003.
He was born November 18, 1944 to Tony and Frances Shea Stilinovich. He proudly graduated from Bingham High School where he loved the community and it's people. He served his country in the U. S. Army.
Tony married Barbara Erickson in 1971. They shared 31 wonderful years of love, laughter and happiness. The highlight of Tony's life was the birth of his son Anthony in 1982. He was a devoted husband and father. His wife and son were the purpose of his life and he was their hero.
Tony was a natural born storyteller. His family and friends will always remember his tremendous sense of humor, love, and enthusiasm.
He was a talented athlete who played, coached and loved all sports. He served as president of the American Legion Baseball program and president of Judge Memorial Ute Conference. He devoted his professional career to athletics working at Shulsen-Dillon Sports, Steven's & Brown Sports and in 1988 he opened Universal Athletics which grew to become one of the most successful athletic supply businesses in Utah.
For those who were lucky to know him, this is a deeply tragic loss. He touched countless lives in a multitude of ways and his death has left a void impossible to fill.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Anthony, mother Frances, mother-in-law and father-in-law Harold and Mary Erickson, brothers Dan (Mari), Joe (Linda), sisters Clara Winrow, Margaret (John) Bailey, brother-in-law John (Ethelyn) Erickson, many nieces, nephews family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and brother.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East. A vigil service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. also at the church, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Committal: Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
