Anna Hilde Armbruster Ruegner was born on August 11, 1920 to Maria Hess Armbruster and Konrad Armbruster in Weilimdorf, Germany.
She passed away on January 13, 2003 in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her family. She attended school in Weilimdorf, Germany from which she graduated with honors at the age of 15. From there she went to work in the industries of Feuerbach, Germany.
Hilde, as she was fondly known by family and friends, married Imanuel G. Ruegner of Weilimdorf on August 23, 1941. This marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Hilde and her husband fulfilled their dream of emigrating to the United States, arriving in Salt Lake City in May of 1953 with their four children. She and her husband made their home in Salt Lake City for the rest of their lives. She worked at Auerbach Co., and was a faithful member of the LDS Church.
Hilde was preceded in death by her husband Imanuel G. Ruegner and son Werner K. Ruegner. Anna Hilde Ruegner is survived by her daughters Christel of Redwood City, CA, Barbara of NYC and Monica of Salt Lake City, and her sister Emilie Höh of Erding-Bergham, Germany.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 11 a.m., at the LeGrand Ward, 1078 S. McClelland. Friends may visit Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
