NEW YORK (AP) — Two men wrongly convicted in the 1987 murder of a cab driver received a $3.3 million settlement from the state Wednesday.
Anthony Faison, 36, and Charles Shepherd, 40, had filed a $60 million wrongful-conviction lawsuit. The settlement — $1.65 million each — came before the judge reached a decision at trial.
"It's been a long road, and finally it's over," Shepherd said.
