Charlotte had been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and held many positions of responsibility including Relief Society president. She and Earl were Logan Temple workers for six months. She was charter member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and had been a secretary and president of her chapter.

Charlotte particularly enjoyed her time in Boise when Earl served three terms in the Idaho House of Representatives and later on the Idaho Park and Tourism boards.
