"Wonderful"
Robert Wendell Bird, 79, beloved dad and grandpa, passed away January 24, 2003.
He was born Aug 29, 1923 in Murray, UT to Leo Willis and Gertrude Stephensen Bird. On Feb 27, 1946 he married Bengta Vaun Dean Peterson in Elko, NV. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2002.
Bob worked for Varian Eimac for 39 years and was a Veteran of World War II. An avid fisherman and out-doorsman, he loved photography and spending time with his family at Flaming Gorge. A daily ritual he relished was spending time each morning at the "coffee shop" with his friends
Survivors: sons, Roger (Darlene), Sandy, Martin (Lisa), Cincinnati, OH, Robert (Elaine), Riverton; daughter-in-law, DeEtta Bird, West Jordan; 15 grandchildren and six great-grand-children; sister, Ruby Wheeler, Roswell, NM. Preceded in death by a son, Gary Bird; granddaughter, Tiffani Bird; also six brothers and two sisters.
Services Tues. Jan 28, 2003, 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. or Tues. one hour prior to services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
