As a resident of the Glendale Community, I would like to thank Mayor Rocky Anderson for tossing us a bone (the plaza deal). Thank you, mayor, for making us the sacrificial lamb in the deal while the rest of the west side gets nothing.
I think that the other parts of Salt Lake City's west side could use other things besides an addition to the Sorensen Center, like stores for shopping and elimination of the trains. We have put up with the mayor's promises for three years, but it seems he just can't deliver.
I want to thank Jon Huntsman for putting the deal together and getting the mayor out of hot water unscathed. I do hope the residents of the west side remember the mayor's false promises come election time and vote for change. Another four years like the past three and the west side will become even less a part of this city.
I would hope that this deal could be worked out so that more could benefit rather than a small segment of one community.
