Utah Transit Authority begins construction on a parallel bridge to the TRAX I-215 bridge on Monday. UTA anticipates completion in late 2003.
The TRAX vehicles are sometimes delayed at the I-215 bridge as one TRAX train waits for the other to cross. Adding another track will solve that problem, said John M. Inglish, UTA General Manager.
With an increasing average of 28,000 passengers a day using the light rail system, the project will enhance TRAX efficiency and reliability, Inglish said.
