The agency responsible for protecting President Bush is looking for new recruits in Salt Lake City.

The U.S. Secret Service will be holding a job fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Salt Lake Community College's Jordan Campus, 3491 W. Wrights Fort Road (9000 South).

The Secret Service is recruiting applicants to work in the Uniformed Division. The Uniformed Division is responsible for protecting the president, vice president and visiting world leaders.

"We're trying to establish a national recruiting effort right now" to help bolster homeland security, said Mike Fithen, special agent in charge of the Secret Service Salt Lake City Resident Office.

The Secret Service also hires special agents, whose duties also include criminal investigations. During Saturday's job fair, Secret Service personnel will be available to discuss all aspects of the application and hiring process. Additional information on the Secret Service and the Uniformed Division is also available at www.secretservice.gov or at 524-5910.
