The search for a new president for the Salt Lake Chamber continues, according to chamber spokesman Michael De Groote.
The application deadline was Dec. 31, 2002, and the chamber received "hundreds" of applications and inquiries, De Groote said Monday. The position became available when former president, Larry Mankin, resigned last October. The chamber's chief operating officer, Craig Peterson, agreed to serve as interim president until Mankin's replacement is hired.
The chamber's board of directors will meet Jan. 21 to go over the applications, and candidates will be interviewed well into the spring. The new chamber president is expected to be announced in late spring or early summer, De Groote said.
