Four pedestrians were injured Wednesday morning when a van hit them in a crosswalk on the University of Utah campus.

The victims, one woman and three men who appeared to be in their 20s, were not critically injured in the accident, University of Utah Police Chief Ben Lemmon said.

The group was crossing from the north to the south side of South Campus Drive in a crosswalk at 1620 East at approximately 8 a.m. when a van traveling east hit them, Lemmon said.

It appears the driver did not see the group in the early morning sun, Lemmon said. She was issued a citation for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk, U. of U. police detective Troy Martinez said.
