Marguerite Hand Woodhead passed away peacefully at home November 20, 2003 at the age of 89.

Born September 28, 1914 in Sandy, Utah. From her father David Alexander Hand she acquired a talent for gardening, which was evidenced by her lovely rose garden. From her mother, Susie Stewart Hand she gained a love for homemaking, culture and beauty. She was happily married to her Jordan High School sweetheart, Willard Verl Woodhead on October 31, 1930, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away in June 1976. She recently enjoyed reminiscing with other Beet Diggers at the 70/71st Jordan High reunion. She shared her talents with young 4-H girls and taught in Mutual, served in Relief Society, particularly in Homemaking/Enrichment and in Compassionate Service. She volunteered at St. Joseph's Villa and the Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed many years of working with her sister, Ramona Rupper at Milton Weilenmann's Bratton's Seafood Grotto.

Always energetic she enjoyed hiking and picking huckleberries with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, particularly at traditional Glacier Park family vacations. She delighted grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her raspberry jam, special roast beef, birthday remembrances, missionary encouragements and sharing her interest in coin collecting. Her family was the joy of her life and she loved it when they came to visit. She was ever self-reliant and independent; she liked living in her home and in the neighborhood surrounded by many caring neighbors that she appreciated.

Survived by three children, Barbara (Richard) Winder Nauvoo, IL; Nancy (Nathan) Aiken South Jordan; David (Marilyn) Woodhead Herriman; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grand-children, six great-great-grand-children sisters Geraldine Reed, Ramona Rupper and brother Dale Hand. Preceded in death by husband, son Willard Noal Woodhead, granddaughter Carrie Aiken, great-granddaughter Hannah Sorensen, one sister and three brothers. A grand "heavenly reunion" is now occurring.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2003 at 12:00 noon at the Valley View 4th Ward, 2702 East Evergreen Ave. (3435 S.). Friends may call Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

In lieu of flower donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
