When Muhammad Ali saw that his son's junior baseball team needed a better place to play, the former heavyweight champion and his wife paid for one.

Muhammad and Lonnie Ali will officially donate a new baseball field to Niles Community Schools in Niles, Mich., on Monday at the district's board meeting. The field is valued at more than $100,000.

The field, already under construction, will feature 75-foot base paths, the proper size for the Junior Baseball League in which Asaad Ali will compete this spring.

But it also will have a lot more, including a batting cage, two bullpens, two dugouts, bleachers, a concession stand, press box and sprinkling system for the field, the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune reported.

The field will be called "Champ's Field," in honor of the former boxing champion.
