SANDY — Police here are investigating two credit union robberies that have occurred within three days.
The latest robbery happened Thursday night when a hooded man entered the Credit Union Service Center, 67 W. 10600 South, about 7 p.m. and demanded money, Sandy Police Lt. Ed Kantor said.
The man fled east from the credit union on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, Kantor said. Police dogs tracked the man's scent a few blocks east of the credit union, where it appears he got away in a car.
Thursday's robbery came two days after Jordan Credit Union, 9260 S. 300 East, was robbed. Police arrested two men and a teenager for investigation of the robbery and were trying to determine if the group may have been responsible for other robberies across the valley.
There have been more than 120 bank robberies in Utah in 2003, an all-time record for the state.
