I am sorry to see that Abraham Morgan, "Drugs help mental illness" (Readers' Forum, Nov. 30), has bought the lies perpetrated by psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical companies, hook, line and sinker. To this day scientists are unable to even name all the chemicals present in the brain, much less their interrelationships.
If we do not know what the chemicals in the brain are and what they actually do, how can we possibly know how they may become unbalanced or the results of any such imbalance, if, indeed, there are any?
Morgan is right on one point, however. Taking these psychiatric medications sometimes does mark the difference between life and death. Too many have killed themselves and others while under the influence of mind-altering psychiatric drugs.
Until the day when scientific evidence exists to back up the claims of psychiatrists and drug companies, these drugs should be banned.
