OREM — Orem police have recovered more than $10,000 in goods allegedly stolen by a Provo woman over the past four months.

Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards said officers first contacted the 23-year-old on Thursday after Hollywood Video employees reported that the woman stole a video from a store at 1335 S. State.

Employees jotted down the number of the license plate of the woman's car and contacted the police, who found her later at her Provo home.

Upon arriving, Edwards said, an officer inquired about any other stolen property at the home. The woman allegedly then led the officer to a stash of items she said she stole over the past four months from stores in Provo and Orem.

Both Provo and Orem police departments sent trucks to the home. The woman helped officers place items in the trucks, depending on which city it had been stolen from.

Due to the women's cooperation and the fact that she was home alone with her child, Edwards said the woman was not arrested Thursday but will be summoned to 4th District Court later to face charges if they are ultimately filed.

Edwards said the property could exceed $10,000 in combined value.
