A dog waits to be rescued Friday from a pickup that ended up in the Friant Kern Canal in Shafter, Calif., Police said the dog's owner stole the vehicle and drove it into the canal. The owner was found by the Shafter Police Department in the area and taken to a nearby hospital. The dog, which suffered a broken leg, was rescued.
