STANFORD, Calif. — Shanna Zolman scored five of her 18 points in overtime, and second-ranked Tennessee survived for a thrilling 70-66 victory Sunday over No. 6 Stanford in a game between two unbeaten women's teams.

Stanford's Nicole Powell had 32 points and 16 rebounds but was 7-for-25 in the second half. She missed a shot under pressure just before the buzzer at the end of regulation and a 3-pointer from the top of the arc with 11 seconds left in overtime that would have tied the game.

Shyra Ely and Ashley Robinson added 16 points apiece for Tennessee (5-0). Stanford (6-1) had 20 turnovers and allowed 17 offensive rebounds.

Tennessee's LaToya Davis forced the extra period when she stole the ball at midcourt from Kelley Suminski and tied the game at 56 with 20 seconds left. Then Powell went the length of the court, but missed.

No. 3 DUKE 90, TULSA 36: At Durham, N.C., Mistie Bass had 21 points and a career-high 12 rebounds for Duke. Alana Beard added 19 points, and Monique Currie and Iciss Tillis had 16 apiece for the Blue Devils (6-1).

No. 5 TEXAS 91, NORTH TEXAS 50: At AUSTIN, Kala Bowers scored 17 of her 22 points in the second half, when Texas made 78 percent of its shots. Heather Schreiber added 19 points for the Longhorns (8-1), who scored 58 points after the break. Jamie Armstrong scored 18 points to lead North Texas (3-4).

No. 7 PENN ST. 96, PITTSBURGH 44: At State College, Pa., Kelly Mazzante had 31 points in just 30 minutes and wound up outscoring Pittsburgh 22-21 in the first half. Jess Strom, added 21 points and nine assists for Penn State (7-1), while Amanda Brown scored 12 points and Jessica Brungo 11. LaToya Kincaid led the Panthers (1-4) with 16 points.

No. 11 KANSAS ST. 94, CREIGHTON 60: At Manhattan, Kan., Nicole Ohlde scored a season-high 32 points to lead Kansas State to its fifth straight victory. The Wildcats (7-2) have beaten their opponents by an average of 36 points during the streak. Kendra Wecker added 13 points, and Brie Madden 12. Christy Neneman led Creighton (3-4) with 19 points.

No. 12 LOUISIANA TECH 94, MISSISSIPPI ST. 65: At Ruston, La., Trina Frierson scored 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, and No. 12 Louisiana Tech had five double-figures scorers. Erica Smith-Taylor added 14 points for the Lady Techsters (6-1). Amber Obaze and Amisha Carter had 13 apiece and Lakiste Barkus 12.

Seneca Anderson led Mississippi State (2-4) with 18 points.

FLORIDA 75, No. 15 UC SANTA BARBARA 49: At Gainesville, Fla., Vanessa Hayden's 31 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocked shots helped Florida end a 13-game losing streak against ranked opponents. A pair of free throws by April McDivitt with 7:29 left pulled the Gauchos to 55-46, but Florida (6-2) closed the game with a 20-3 run to beat a ranked opponent for the first time since knocking off No. 11 Penn State on Dec. 3, 2000. Kristen Mann had 15 points for UCSB (4-2).

RUTGERS 73, No. 19 TCU 65: At Piscataway, N.J., Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points for Rutgers, which made 14 of 18 free throws in the final three minutes and ended a four-game losing streak while handing TCU its first loss. Chelsea Newton added 15 points for the Scarlet Knights (4-4). Sandora Irvin scored 20 points for TCU (6-1).

No. 4 DUKE 84, PORTLAND 43: At Durham, N.C. reserve Luol Deng scored 15 points, and fourth-ranked Duke held Portland to three first-half baskets Sunday. Deng got off the bench for the first time this season, but the freshman didn't miss a beat, scoring 11 of his points as the Blue Devils (6-1) built a 28-point halftime edged. In a 26-second span in Duke's masterful first half, Deng blocked a shot, hit a 3-pointer and then drew a charge, showing of his all-around game.

No. 6 TEXAS 89, NEW ORLEANS 55: At Austin, Brian Boddicker had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Texas extended its home winning streak to 20 games. P.J. Tucker had 17 points and Brandon Mouton scored 15 for Texas (5-1). Bo McCalebb led New Orleans (3-1) with 15 points. Texas led 22-20 midway through the first half before a 19-4 run opened things up.

No. 7 NORTH CAROLINA 64, AKRON 53: At Chapel Hill, Rashad McCants had 14 points and Sean May had a Smith Center-record 21 rebounds Sunday to lift No. 7 North Carolina to a 64-53 victory over Akron. Jawad Williams scored 13 points and Raymond Felton added 12 for the Tar Heels (6-0), who are off to their best start since winning their first eight games in 1998-99. May finished with 10 points on 3-for-18 shooting. Romeo Travis scored 13 points to lead Akron (3-2). Derrick Tarver, who came into the game averaging 24.8 points, had seven on 3-for-16 shooting.

No. 12 SAINT JOSEPH'S 92, DREXEL 70: At Philadelphia, Jameer Nelson scored 24 points, Delonte West added 20 and Chet Stachitas had a career-high 14, all but two on 3-pointers, for the Hawks. Saint Joseph's (7-0) had a season-high 13 3-pointers and finished with a season-high point total. Sean Brooks scored 22 points and Tim Whitworth had 14 for Drexel (2-4), which shot 53 percent on losing to the Hawks for the 14th straight time.
