The U.S. Postal Service wants to remind the public this busy holiday season that you can "mail from your house with a click of your mouse."
By visiting the Post Office that never closes — www.usps.com — customers can calculate postage, find ZIP codes or put mail on hold if going on vacation. They can also purchase stamps, track and confirm mailings, or even design, purchase and mail personalized greeting cards.
Shipping online is free and easy using the "Click-N-Ship" feature. All you need is a computer, printer, scale and Internet connection to print out labels. When finished, just give the packages directly to your letter carrier, or take them directly to your post office.
"The easy-to-use online shipping service allows customers to mail without leaving their homes or offices," said Salt Lake City Postmaster Ralph Hamilton. "With Click-N-Ship, customers can create and print mailing labels — with or without postage — and pay via credit card."
Delivery confirmation service is also free using Priority Mail service with Click-N-Ship.
