1909 ~ 2003

Thelda McBride Nix passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on December 13, 2003 of natural causes.

She was born March 31, 1909 in Grantsville to Ada Butler and Thomas H. McBride. She married Foster Nix on November 24, 1927. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on July 31, 1957. She was a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church and served in numerous church callings. She enjoyed the time she spent as Relief Society work leader and ward organist. She served as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She was a very talented lady and created many beautiful works of art. This wonderful loving matriarch will be missed by her family and friends; however, she has left us all better people with a warm spot in our hearts and many years of wonderful memories. She gave much and asked for little. She was the sole survivor of her generation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Foster Nix, son William Nix and daughter Gloria Nix Poe, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by children Leoid (Delores) Nix, Tooele, UT; Dorothy (Ron) Nelson, Salt Lake City, UT; Myron (Janet) Nix Tooele, UT; Marlene (Sam) Jorgensen, Pleasant View, UT; foster daughter Karen Taylor, West Haven, UT; 25 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday Dec. 17, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Tate Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary prior to services. Burial in the Tooele City Cemetery.
