Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Virginia Knight Bodily, 94, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at her son's home in Kaysville due to natural causes.
She was born June 6, 1909 in Plain City, the daughter of William Thomas and Zina Taylor Knight.
Virginia married Leland Earl Bodily on June 12, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He preceded her in death on March 16, 1978.
Virginia resided in Plain City for 20 years and the last 74 years in Syracuse.
She was a member of the Syracuse Homestead Ward. She served in many callings, Young Womens, Relief Society president plus various teaching positions.
Virginia loved sewing, working in her yard, reading and watching movies.
Surviving are her son, Max (Mary) Bodily, Kaysville; two daughters, Beverley (Delwin) Bates, Cedaredge, CO; Beth Moon, Syracuse; two daughters-in-law, Belva (Van, deceased) Bodily, Ogden, Caroll (Gary, deceased) Thurgood, Syracuse; 19 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Rae (Frank) Woodland. Preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends and family may call Wed. from 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
