Joan Brinton Bohling, age 92, died Sunday December 14, 2003, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Joan was born November 27, 1911, in Kimballs's Junction, Utah to Samuel L. and Emma Lemon Brinton. She lived her life in Salt Lake City. She married William D. Bohling September 16, 1937. After raising her family, she worked for years as an accountant for the Beehive Clothing Mills. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom left her family a legacy of hard work, honesty, grit and devotion. She developed a flinty sense of humor in her later years that served her well. She was proud of her kids and grandkids and adored her only great-grandchild.
She is survived by her sisters, Erma Evans and Jean Parry; children, William B (Diane), Salt Lake City, Utah, John A. (Janis), LaCenter, Washington, Joan B. Jolley, Salt Lake City, Utah; eleven grandchildren, Brinton (Sarah), Matthew, Nathan, Jacob, Bryan (Joce-lyn), Sandy, Steve, and Brandon Boh-ling, Stephanie (David) Solomon, Eric and David Jolley; and one great-grandchild, Katie Solomon. Her husband, brothers, Lyle and Wayne Brin-ton, sister, Olive Malin, and one grandson, Peter Bohling, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday December 16, 2003, 2:30 p.m., at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2020 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family acknowledges the loving kindness provided to mother by Care Source, Life Path Hospice and Family Services, and the Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Center of Excellence.
