Donald A. Larson believes the recent 4-3 Massachusetts ruling involving marriage laws to be the "kind of judicial activism (that) seems to be a big part of what 'mainstream' means to Democrats in the Senate."

Wow.

Larson may be surprised to learn that the governor of Massachusetts, neither Democrats nor Republicans in the U.S. Senate, appoints each member of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.

Larson may be further surprised to learn that of the four justices in favor of the Massachusetts ruling promoting homosexual rights to wed, three were appointed by Republican governors: (1) Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall, Republican Gov. William F. Weld; (2) Justice Roderick L. Ireland, Republican Gov. William F. Weld; (3) Justice Judith A. Cowin, Republican Gov. Paul Cellucci.

Any person inclined to generalize please allow yourself to become informed. Indeed, you may be surprised by what you learn.
