PROVO — The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists that a section of Provo Canyon will be periodically closed today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., for testing of avalanche control equipment.

The highway will be closed in both directions between Frazier and Nunns parks. Closures will last for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Highway Patrol officers and signs will be posted. Travelers accessing the canyon may use UDOT's Highway Advisory Radio by tuning to AM 530 for more information. Motorists should expect moderate delays.
