"We love you"

Fred D. Johnson, 90, passed away December 14, 2003.

Fred was born March 6, 1913 to Willis Kelsey and Hattie Lee Johnson in Mapleton, Utah. He married Jane "Chummy" Thatcher, January 21, 1935; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired from the Wycoff Company and completed his career with the Newspaper Agency Corporation. He was a great story teller, enjoyed working in his garage where he made many rocking chairs and cradles, for little children. Playing Santa every year for his family and neighbors brought him great joy. He was a faithful and active member of the LDS Church and loved serving others.

He is survived by three children, Sharon (Walt) Sturgell, Denver; Fred (Mary Kaye) Sandy, Cori (Dan) Hansen, West Valley City; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cora Lee, Springville; Claudia Seeley, Orem; Alice Johnson, Pleasant Grove. Preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Hal, Clark, Roy, Willis, Frank; sister, Lois.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at the Riverside Stake Center, 1100 W. 500 N., Salt Lake City. Friends may call Thurs., December 18, 2003, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood and Friday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S.
