SPANISH FORK — One teenager is dead and three teens were injured in a rollover accident on I-15 early Sunday.
Killed was:
Heriberto Sanchez, 14, Orem.
When officers arrived at the crash about 12:50 a.m. Sunday, they could smell alcohol from the sedan involved in the accident, a Utah Highway Patrol statement said. They are investigating whether alcohol was involved.
The sedan was traveling north on I-15 at varying speeds and allegedly recklessly. Shortly before the rollover, it was traveling fast. It entered the median and turned multiple times. Bautista was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the sedan, the statement said.
The 17-year-old driver, from Payson, was airlifted to University Hospital. Two other passengers, ages 14 and 15, from Orem, were transported to Mountain View Hospital in Payson by ambulance.
