I feel compelled to write on the great fortune local veterans have been given. I am presently being treated for some problems and am constantly amazed. The staff of the local VA Clinic have been terrific. Their professionalism, compassion, courtesy, interest and helpfulness are almost beyond my comprehension. Drs. Diaz, Black, Whipple and others have given me treatment never approached in other institutions, even with their enormous charges. The helpfulness of the nurses, Colleen Walker, Nancy Dailey and others, is wonderful to me. The staff of the pharmacy have been equally good.
I feel well-qualified to speak on this subject. My late wife was a veteran of the New Guinea campaign and was troubled with an infection from that service. I have witnessed her reception in VA clinics in other states. I have a real feeling that the arrogance and unfeeling attitude of the personnel there probably contributed to the deterioration of her condition resulting in her death.
We Utah veterans are very fortunate to have access to such a devoted institution.
