Marianne Jennings normally uses her column to advocate moral issues, and she normally makes a lot of sense. So I was quite disappointed to read her last column where, after expressing her distaste for the way Jessica Lynch has put herself in the spotlight since returning from Iraq, she makes the following statement: "Thank goodness smut peddler Larry Flynt showed Lynch's true colors, or at least the color of her skin. Flynt has photographs showing that Lynch is a babe in the woods, a topless one at that."
I don't pay much attention to Jessica Lynch, and while I am grateful that she served our country, I am not bothered if somebody bad-mouths her. However, for Jennings to say "Thank goodness" that pornographic material is out there is out of line. After making so much sense in a recent column about the Abercrombie and Fitch catalog, I am saddened to see that Jennings sees pornography in a different light when it benefits her cause.
