WEST VALLEY CITY — Two men robbed a credit union here Monday afternoon, marking the 125th robbery of a financial institution in Utah this year.
Two men wearing ski masks entered the Utah Central Credit Union, 4090 W. 4100 South, just after 1 p.m., said West Valley Police Capt. Craig Black.
One man wearing cut-off sweatpants and a dark, hooded sweatshirt pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the teller, Black said.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the two ran away from the credit union. Investigators believe based on witness statements the duo may have gotten into a car a few blocks away. Detectives were looking Monday for a 1990s silver or gold Ford Taurus.
No one was injured in the incident. The 125 robberies of banks and credit unions this year is a record for the Beehive State.
