LINDON — Paul Tom is fighting to continue fighting.
Lindon police and city officials are scrutinizing Tom's Sport Fighting Tournaments held at his fight school, Academy of Mixed Martial Arts.
According to the state athletic commission, Tom followed every procedure and guideline required of him to hold the events. In addition, an ambulance and a physician were at the event.
On Tuesday, the City Council and police leaders voiced concern that the tournaments would draw far more than Tom's 100-person occupancy limit. They also wonder if city codes allow such events in the area where Tom operates the martial arts academy.
